Lauren Grixti is a Melbourne/Naarm based multi-disciplinary emerging artist who graduated with a Diploma of Visual Arts and a Bachelor of Fine Arts from RMIT. Her recent work focuses on still life, exploring the form of organic objects over time, and the changes in texture, colour and shape that occur as they age and decay. Working with oil paint on small scale work allows the exploration of intricate and unique features within the subject matter, inviting the viewer to look closer at details that may otherwise be overlooked.
She also works in mediums including printmaking, sculpture and mixed media, and has exhibited in recent group exhibitions at Fortyfivedownstairs, Brunswick Street Gallery, Quadrant Gallery and Red Gallery in Melbourne, and Sequel Gallery in Geelong.
